NVQ Assessment in Cleaning and Support Services
The NVQ in Cleaning and Support Services requires a candidate to be observed whilst at work. The assessment is carried out while the candidate is working on site, the assessor will visit the candidate and carry out an observation. The assessor will then ask questions to the candidate while they are working. This will meet the requirements of the award and answer the questions to the underpinning knowledge. The award in Cleaning and Support Services is 90% direct observation of a candidate carrying out their daily duty.
We use a standard question bank, this is completed whilst the candidate is on the programme and the candidate will then answer the questions in the question bank at work. At No time will the candidate be asked to visit the assessor this means no disruption to the work place.
All training undertaken will take place at their site (employer's work place). In conjunction with the employer and the candidate. This can include C.O.S.H.H, Manual handling, Fire precautions, Color coding, Infection Control, and the use of equipment in Cleaning Services.
The candidate will be visited on a fortnightly basis but if required will be seen more frequently. At the end of each visit the assessor will give feedback on the observation and plan the next visit (date/time). The assessor will then complete a review with the candidate covering how far the candidate is through the programme.
This gives the candidate an opportunity to comment on the course and it gives the assessor the time to comment on the candidate’s performance. At which stage the assessor will seek an input for the employer on any issues that may arise.
